Linda D. Monroe is a twenty one year resident of the Town of Capitol Heights who has been active within the community. Ms. Monroe hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For many years, she has focused her efforts on youth mentoring and tutoring. She has a strong proponent for youth advocacy and support for issues related to those in need, especially homelessness. Currently, Councilmember Monroe is self-employed and takes on government consulting projects along with volunteering with Greater DC Cares/DC Thrive.
Councilmember Monroe is a well informed professional expert with over 30 years of experience with the Federal Government as a defense security specialist contractor. Her management skills, knowledge of budgeting, personnel, and program development will prove to be valuable to the Town of Capitol Heights. Ms. Monroe graduated from Hampton University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and then went on to earn her master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Temple University. As a goal, Councilwoman Monroe’s focus will be on the overall growth and stability of the Town of Capitol Heights.
