Neighborhood Services/ Day Laborer

JOB TITLE: Laborer III
The Town of Capitol Heights, located in Prince Georges Country, MD, is known as “The Gateway to the Nation’s Capitol.” The City’s 4,300 residents are friendly, involved, and treasure their inviting sense of community. The Town of Capitol Heights is seeking an experienced individual who has a minimum of a High School Diploma with experience working with landscaping, cleaning, and neighborhood projects.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate integrity and must have the ability to inspire the trust and confidence of Town staff and the Town Council. Candidates must have the capacity to work outside in severe weather conditions, and have the ability to supervise, train and evaluate maintenance crews. Candidates must also ensure the safe and productive use of equipment utilized and associated with repair work. Candidate should possess a certification or a licensed skill trade in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry, etc
Candidates are required to have at least a High School Diploma and a minimum of four (4) years of progressive, responsible experience in dealing with heavy duty equipment including, but not limited to, backhoe, front end loader, excavator, and streets maintenance. Candidates must also be able to perform intensive labor work in all weather elements. Projects may include intensive lifting of 75 pounds or more. Candidates should also have some experience in dealing with constructional equipment and small tools. Candidates must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
